Nigerian celebrities react as Chioma Chukwuka, Funke Akindele turn RAPPERS in new song (video).

The “entertainment industry” is an umbrella term for so many creative jobs. Under the “entertainment industry”, the music industry and the movie industry are the biggest industries. As related as these two industries are, it is very rare to find talent that crosses over – that is, musicians that go into acting seriously or actors that go into music seriously. But it does happen.

And it has happened again this week. This week, star Nigerian actress Funke Akindele popular for playing the role of Jenifa in the Jenifa movies and the TV series, Jenifa’s Diary, unveiled the new music video for one of the songs off of her new movie soundtrack, Omo Ghetto: The Saga Soundtrack and on this song titled Askamaya Anthem, we see four of Nollywood’s juggernauts: Funke Akindele Bello, Chioma Akpotha, Eniola Badmus, and Bimbo Thomas all dawn alter egos and rap on the very infectious song.

All women look unrecognizable in the video and they all lend not only lyrics and their voice to the song, but they also all appear in the video dancing and fulfilling their hip-hop fantasy.

Enough of me talking – you have to see the video. Here is the video for Askamaya Anthem.

Askamaya Anthem Music Video

After the music video premiered, one person in particular got a lot of reactions about her verse and that person happened to be none other than Chioma Akpotha whose verse was shared all around on social media.

Immediately the clip started circulating, you can trust that Nigerians started to go in and the first people who went in were of course the Nigerian celebrities.

Nigerian actress, Ini Edo said:

Epic looveeeeeee 😍it’s the biceps, the attitude, it’s chioma for me 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Nigerian comedian and influencer, Taymesan, said:

“Burst my brain!!! Sis @chiomakpotha you killed it!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽”

Singer Lami Philips also commented saying:

@chiomakpotha i think really ehn.. you need an alter ego after this! @oyeakd please sort ASAP.. levels have kuku changed

Best friend of Chioma Akpotha and fellow actress, Omoni Oboli said:

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Chummychoko for the money o 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, also reacting to the clip said:

Wahala for who no sabi rap for their native language o 🤣🤣

Nigerian comedian Steve Chukswhile watching Funke Akindele Bello’s own part of the song still had to talk about Chioma’s verse. He wrote on Funke’s video:

Watched full video and I’m not over how good Chioma Akpotha’s verse was 🔥🔥🔥.

It seems like Chioma’s verse truly was the standout for everybody - it is what everyone is talking about.

Feeling her own self, Chioma Akpotha said about her verse in the song:

NYEM WAY ! . Energyyyyyy🔥Chummy Choko 🔥pure vibes!

I have never seen these four women look like this before and if this song and music video is any indication of what we can expect from the full Omo Ghetto Saga movie that will be featuring actual musicians Yemi Alade and Slimcase, then I’m very ready to watch it. Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint.

Omo Ghetto: The Saga will be showing in cinemas nationwide starting from Christmas Day. I can’t wait to watch!

That’s All.
